Selim Dündar has over 20 years of successful experience representing clients in M&As, investments, and infrastructure projects, as well as complex commercial litigations.
He has been awarded as a Recognized Practitioner by Chambers & Partners for his representation of ATLAS, an investment company in Qatar that partners with Qatar Energy, ICA, the joint venture that built the Northern Marmara Motorway, including the Third Bosporus Bridge, CTECH, a telecom company owned by TUSAS that manufactured the TURKSAT 6A Satellite, and a number of mid-size companies in various M&A projects.
Selim has an impressive track record of success as a trial lawyer. He represents companies in disputes over contracts that involve breach of contract, defective products, and non-performance. More importantly, he and his team have extensive experience resolving shareholder disputes, having represented numerous Turkish companies and/or shareholders before Turkish courts.
In addition to representing well-known brands, he is also involved in state-investor and commercial arbitration proceedings, as well as the recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards, and thus represents three sovereign states in Türkiye. Due to his extensive experience and representations, he has recently become involved in a number of sanction regime matters arising from various global and regional conflicts.
LEADERSHIP
Selim currently serves as the managing partner of Dundar Sir Law Firm. In ten years, under his leadership, the firm has grown from a small law firm to a well-known boutique law firm with twenty-four fee earners representing sovereign states as well as companies in a variety of industries.
He is committed to providing pro bono services to individuals, communities, and NGOs with limited resources who are unable to afford legal services. Dündar Sır has provided pro bono services to Performers' Union, Refugee Rights Türkiye, AFS Volunteers, and Hatay Academy Symphony Orchestra after the devastating earthquake in 2023. The Istanbul Bar and Bilgi University recognized Dündar Sir's dedication with the "Best Pro Bono Law Firm" award, an award given only one time in Bar's history.
Due to his successful professional background and community service (e.g., Pro Bono activities), he was selected as an Eisenhower Fellow by the Eisenhower Fellowships Committee in 2017 and spent eight weeks in the United States meeting legal professionals ranging from state departments to academics, NGOs to global law firms.
